A bit delayed but some words on season 63 -
We entered S63 having just won Jawlat GC with Sacha in top form. The win put us up to Div 4 (and Div 3 for a couple days!). We had a couple good results to start... and then it all fell apart. Sacha had bad days for Edmonton then a series of top-10 finishes but the podium seemed unreachable.
The Flyers went through a program of changing lead out train and hillers. But that first meant releasing and retiring several riders. Notably Atwater Hodge, Sacha's mentor, moved on to higher diversion with our thanks. Sergei and Djabo retired.
We added Cruz, LeBron, Holger and Klaus to the lead out train which really increased the wattage available. But somehow the team didn't jell. Ernst came out of amateurs to be a home grown lead-out. On the climbing side we added Teo as new captain, with Irwin and Tome to pull.
As a result we improved the averages and dramatically reduced age in the team. The numbers said it should make a great basis for several seasons with reduced turnover. We even found Desire - a homegrown talent with the potential to be the next sprint captain.
But somehow, no output in season 63, just lots of hope for season 64
